Event Overview
Welcome message:

The European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS) and the Spanish Society of Atherosclerosis are pleased to invite you to attend the 82nd Annual Congress of the EAS, which will be held in Madrid, Spain, from May 31st – June 3rd in 2014.

EAS brings together scientists and health care professionals from around the world who are involved in different fields of atherosclerosis: epidemiology, prevention, etiopathogenic aspects, physiopathology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation. EAS leads the field in academic and scientific knowledge and promotes the highest standards of clinical practice and continuing education for its members.

The Spanish Society of Atherosclerosis (SEA), with more than 25 years of scientific life, shares the same objectives with EAS and, at the same time, serves as a link with Latin American countries via the Iberolatinamerican Atherosclerosis Society (SILAT).

The 82nd Annual Congress of the EAS will provide a unique meeting place for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary knowledge exchange between colleagues. It promises to offer exciting insights into the most recent research findings in all aspects of atherosclerosis through plenary lectures, workshops, abstract presentations and educational symposia.

We are proud that Madrid was chosen as the location of EAS 2014. The city of Madrid affords a combination of culture and history and offers an ambiance of astonishing architecture, galleries, museums, theatres and culinary pleasures. Thus, Madrid will provide an excellent background for scientific and clinical exchanges, international collaborations and renewal of friendships. The cosmopolitan nature of Madrid has not affected the warm, friendly and passionate character of its people.

Indeed the 2014 Congress will be particularly memorable since we will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the European Atherosclerosis Society (1964-2014) – an exceptional event which we have the satisfaction and the honour of hosting in Madrid.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we invite you to participate in this Anniversary Congress and to join the celebration with us.

We look forward to welcoming you to Madrid!

With best wishes
