8th European Conference on Rare Diseases & Orphan Products
Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) #
Edinburgh, UKSituated at the heart of Scotland's elegant and historic capital city, the EICC is one of the world's outstanding venues for conferences, conventions and exhibitions.
Our purpose-built centre offers the very best in facilities and technology; and our experienced, enthusiastic team will help to ensure your event's success. At the EICC, we bring people together and get them talking. We create a sense of momentum. We remember every detail. And we conjure up those defining moments that delegates remember long after they have left. We would love you to visit us and see for yourself. In the meantime, we hope our website gives you an idea of what is possible for your event. What do we mean to Edinburgh?
The EICC is owned by the City of Edinburgh Council and operates as an independent commercial venture. With its history, architecture and festivals, Edinburgh has long been popular with tourists but the EICC was built to attract more business visitors. Since opening in 1995, we have welcomed over a million delegates through our doors for more than 2,500 events, generating £400m in economic impact for the city. But perhaps more importantly, the EICC is also a source of great pride for a city that has flourished through celebrating its past whilst always looking to the future.EICC Customer Promise
The Edinburgh International Conference Centre is Totally Committed To Our Customers; the conference client, the people of Edinburgh, and the employees of the Company. The Quality Of Service starts and finishes with the customer. Our purpose is to delight them. The Company recognises the need for an integrated Quality system to ensure that every job is done right; First Time, On Time, Every Time, and by appropriately trained staff. This system is subject to a regular process of evaluation and review in order to continually improve the service we offer our customers. The Edinburgh International Conference Centre aims to set a new world-wide standard in Customer Satisfaction.Following on from seven successful events, 2016 sees the 8th year of the ever-growing European Conference on Rare Diseases & Orphan Products. This biennial conference is a unique opportunity to come together and exchange: it is the event at which to connect and share with all other members of the rare disease community.
The ECRD is the only event which, from its small beginnings, has united all rare disease stakeholders from all European nations- patients and patient representatives, healthcare professionals and researchers, industry, payers, regulators and policy makers alike- in the fight against rare diseases. The ECRD now brings together over 80 speakers and more than 800 participants, covering six themes of content over two days: from the latest research, to developments in new treatments, to innovations in healthcare, social care and support at the European, national and regional levels. New meeting formats to enhance the on-site learning experience will be showcased for the first time in Edinburgh and will include a speed networking session to connect patients, researchers and industry, an open-house “soap box” lunch session, interactive roundtables, audience polling, networking lunches / coffee breaks and dedicated poster sessions.
The focus in 2016 will be on Game Changers in Rare Diseases. We will also be holding pre-conference tutorials, which will ensure that you are equipped to learn as much as possible from the conference.
Exhibit at the ECRD and you will expose your service or company to over 800 international participants.
