Target Audience & Prerequisite

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of ophthalmologists, optometrists and allied health personnel (i.e., COTs, RNs, PAs, CRNAs). Attendees must be licensed professionals engaged in patient care pertaining to vision, the eye and/or related diseases.

Educational Method

Presentations will consist of lectures and panel discussions, featuring question and answer sessions, as well as actual case presentations.

Statement of Need/Program Overview

Staying in focus with available treatment strategies and research advances to improve vision and reduce vision loss challenge today's eye care professionals. Refractive surgery, cataract surgery, glaucoma and retinal disorders demand the continuous development of surgical skills, the application of diagnostic techniques and the awareness of emerging research and product innovations. In addition the eye care professional must be current in practice management issues to maintain a solid practice foundation. These are essential in the plan to restore and preserve vision for their patients.

Desired Result

To impact competence by demonstrating and teaching the newest techniques and technologies in cataract/implant surgery, refractive surgery and glaucoma treatment.
