Welcome message:
Please join conference Cochairs Lewis Cantley, Elizabeth Platz, and Michael Pollak for a meeting that will explore emerging mechanisms surrounding obesity and cancer. This conference will showcase top international researchers from basic, translational, behavioral, and population sciences. Interactive discussions will examine important issues related to the correlation between obesity and cancer from a variety of unique perspectives as well as from the epidemiologic view of why obesity happens, what effects it can have, and how it can be prevented.

General Info:

Individuals wishing to attend the conference must register either online or by returning, by mail or by fax, the registration form found above. Places at the conference are available on a first-come, first-served basis according to date of registration. Registration forms will not be processed without full payment. Copies of checks, government, or other payment orders cannot be accepted. All fees must be in U.S. currency, drawn on a U.S. bank. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are also accepted for payment.


AACR members must include their member ID number on the registration form or log into their member account when registering online to obtain the member rates (member dues must be paid through 2018​ prior to registering). Online registrations will be confirmed by email immediately. All other registrations will be confirmed by email approximately three weeks after receipt. Receipts can also be obtained online at www.myaacr.org.


Please note: For online registration, you must log in to register. The \"Register\" button will become active once you log in using an existing account or once you create a new nonmember account.

Attendee registration includes admission to all lecture sessions, poster sessions, the opening reception on January 27, conference continental breakfasts on January 28, 29, and 30, refreshment breaks, lunch during Poster Session A on January 28, and refreshments during Poster Session B on January 29. All fees are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD).

A reduced conference rate of $269 per night is available to conference attendees until 5:00 P.M. CT, Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. Reservations may be made online or by calling 1-844-473-3959 and requesting the AACR Special Conference on Obesity and Cancer: Mechanisms Underlying Etiology and Outcomes. The hotel will accept reservations at the reduced conference rate on a space-available basis until the cut-off date. Reservations made after this date will be accepted on a space and rate available basis. Applied to the room charge will be state and local taxes, currently 15.604 %. Reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card at the time of reservation. One-night deposit will be taken at the time the reservation is made. Note that check-in time is 3:00 p.m., and check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

Individuals interested in submitting an abstract for presentation during the conference must do so through the NEW AACR Online Submission System below.


Log onto myAACR. If you are an AACR member, please use your AACR username and password. If you have forgotten either, you can look it up on the website by entering your Member ID. For non-AACR members, you will need to create a free myAACR account to submit your abstract.


Note: This is free and the account is not for membership to the AACR, only to submit your abstract. 


Once logged on, click "Abstracts" to be directed to the NEW AACR Online Submission System. Click "View All Activities" to find the 2018 Obesity and Cancer: Mechanisms Underlying Etiology and Outcomes Abstracts where you can create your submission(s). Click the "Create Submissions" button to begin. Abstract submissions will only be accepted electronically; paper abstracts will not be accepted.
