Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) #
Edinburgh, UKSituated at the heart of Scotland's elegant and historic capital city, the EICC is one of the world's outstanding venues for conferences, conventions and exhibitions.
Our purpose-built centre offers the very best in facilities and technology; and our experienced, enthusiastic team will help to ensure your event's success. At the EICC, we bring people together and get them talking. We create a sense of momentum. We remember every detail. And we conjure up those defining moments that delegates remember long after they have left. We would love you to visit us and see for yourself. In the meantime, we hope our website gives you an idea of what is possible for your event. What do we mean to Edinburgh?
The EICC is owned by the City of Edinburgh Council and operates as an independent commercial venture. With its history, architecture and festivals, Edinburgh has long been popular with tourists but the EICC was built to attract more business visitors. Since opening in 1995, we have welcomed over a million delegates through our doors for more than 2,500 events, generating £400m in economic impact for the city. But perhaps more importantly, the EICC is also a source of great pride for a city that has flourished through celebrating its past whilst always looking to the future.EICC Customer Promise
The Edinburgh International Conference Centre is Totally Committed To Our Customers; the conference client, the people of Edinburgh, and the employees of the Company. The Quality Of Service starts and finishes with the customer. Our purpose is to delight them. The Company recognises the need for an integrated Quality system to ensure that every job is done right; First Time, On Time, Every Time, and by appropriately trained staff. This system is subject to a regular process of evaluation and review in order to continually improve the service we offer our customers. The Edinburgh International Conference Centre aims to set a new world-wide standard in Customer Satisfaction. As Conference Chairman it is my pleasure to invite you to join us in Edinburgh for the Federation of Infection Societies (FIS) Annual Conference and the 10th Healthcare Infection Society (HIS) International Conference 2016. We are delighted to be organising this joint conference with FIS.
In addition to the popular eponymous lectures, there will be four streams across a wide variety of topics including healthcare infection control, new diagnostics, emerging infectious diseases and new therapeutics. As in previous years, the event is expected to obtain accreditation from both the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) and the Royal College of Pathologists, UK.
Our exhibition is a fundamental part of our biennial conference programme and we are always looking at ways to improve the exhibitor experience. I’m pleased to say that in response to feedback we have extended the coffee breaks for the 2016 event; allowing even more time for delegate and exhibitor interaction throughout the three days.
With its intriguing history and excellent transport links, Edinburgh is a destination that draws delegates from far and wide and for the last seven years has retained its position as the most popular UK city, after London, for hosting international society meetings.
The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) is a modern, purpose-built conference facility in the heart of the city and is conveniently located within walking distance of the train station and only 20 minutes from the airport.
I look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh.
