Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Congress Programme Committee, we are honoured to invite you to join the 16th Congress of Asian College of Psychosomatic Medicine (ACPM), held in conjunction with 3rd Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Society of Psychosomatic Medicine in Jakarta, Indonesia on 22- 23 August 2014.

Both, international and local committees are working hard and with great enthusiasm on a program focused on the latest developments in Psychosomatic Medicine.

The theme for the Conference is "From Research To Clinical Practice in Psychosomatic Medicine". Designed to be a platform for the presentation of international research in psychosomatic medicine and the discussion about application in clinical practice. The Committee has put together a stimulating scientific programme that features a combination of plenary lectures, scientific paper presentation and workshop.

The congress will offers also an education opportunity for young colleagues and beginners in the field. You will benefit from state-of-the-art updates in various aspects of Psychosomatic Medicine, and you will have an unique opportunity to network with ACPM study groups.

We are therefore confident that this conference will contribute to the nurturing of a holistic allied health, integrated care in psychosomatic medicine in Asia Pacific.

Chiharu Kubo is a Professor and  Director in Kyushu University Hospital.
He was graduated Faculty of Medicine, Kyushu University, awarded the degree of Medical Doctor in 1973.
His research and professional field are related of psychosomatic medicine (psycho-neuro-endocrino-immunology), internal medicine and allergology.
He works for many Japan societies and his current position is a President, Asian College of Psychosomatic Medicine

Hiroshi Ishizu is an Adviser Professor of  the exchange Program of Inter universities between National Taiwan University College of Medicine (Taiwan and Faculty of Medicine, University of Ryukyus (Okinawa, Japan)
Visiting Professor of Harbin Medical University Harbin in China.
Dean of Graduate School of Health Sciences, University of the Ryukyus at Okinawa, Japan from 1989-2000.
Professor of Faculty of Medicine is related of mental health and psychosomatic medicine from University of Ryukyus at Okinawa, Japan from 1982-2004.

Hans Christian Deter was graduated from University of Wűrzburg, Viena, Kiel and Heidelberg as Psychoterapist and Psychoanalyst.
He is Medical Director of the Department of General Medicine, Naturopathy and Psychotherapy at Charité – Campus Benjamin Franklin in Berlin.
He works focuses on Psychosomatic therapy models as part of a Medical Clinic, theory and practice of disease – oriented group therapy, psychosomatic therapy research,  particulary in patients with anorexia nervosa and asthma.


Amarendra N. Singh is a Professor of Psychiatry, Pharmacology and Neurosciences at Queen’s University.
Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Psychopharmacology at Institute of Psychiatry, Postgraduate Medical Education & Research UNDCP Nodal Centre for Drug Abuse Prevention.
W.H.O ACPM Professor in Psychosomatic Medicine & Psychopharmacology.


E.Mudjaddid was graduated from Faculty of Medicine University of Indonesia, specialist as internist in 1993. 
He was appointed as Consultant Psychosomatic, Department of Internal Medicine Faculty of Medicine University of Indonesia/  Cipto Mangunkusumo National General Hospital.
In his current position as President of Indonesian Society of Psychosomatic Medicine.

Submission Info

Delegates are invited to submit one abstract for consideration for oral and poster presentation.

Deadline for abstract submission is on May 26, 2014

Guidelines for Abstract Submission
1. Abstracts must be submitted in English only
2. All presenting authors are required to register and pay the appropriate registration fees for the poster presentation
3. Only paid and accepted abstracts will be published in the Congress Abstract Book
4. Submissions that do not conform to the established format will not be accepted for review by the Scientific Committee

Abstract Content Structure the text using the following headings: 
1. State Aims of study
2. State Methods. This section should state the research study design used 
3. Summaries Results obtained. This section should report the best estimate, the p-value or the 95% confidence interval for the outcome
4. State Conclusions reached. It is not satisfactory to state “The results will be discussed”

Abstract Format
1. Abstract should contain not more than 250 words of text in Times New Roman, size 11 pts. Do NOT use a smaller font size
2. Abstract title must be in CAPITAL letters and bold print. Do not indent. Title should be concise and indicate the content of the abstract
3. Leave one blank line between abstract title and author/affiliation block
4. Beginning on a separate line, list the author’s names. Underlining that of the presenting author. Do NOT include degrees or professional titles (Prof, Dr, MD, etc)
5. On a separate line, type the names of departments, institutions and countries
6. Leave one blank line between the title/author block and the body of the abstract
7. Abstract text must be single-spaced and justified at the left margin only. Do not leave blank lines between paragraphs. Do not indent paragraphs
8. Use of standard abbreviations is desirable. Place special or unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word the first time it appears. Use numerals to indicate numbers, except to begin sentences
9. Use bolded section headings where relevant
10. The use of tables, graphs and other types of images in abstracts are not permitted

Submission Procedures
Abstracts may be submitted in one of the following ways (please do not make multiple submissions of the same abstract): 
1. Electronic mail to Email.

2. Submit in the form of CD-ROM, and/or USB-flash drives to the Secretariat in Jakarta Indonesia. 
    Abstract submitted by FAX will not be considered.

Guidelines for Poster Presentation
1. The official language is English
2. The poster will be displayed daily according to the schedule
3. Kindly set up your poster on Poster Board bearing your Poster ID number
4. Size of the poster boards is 180 cm (height) x 90 cm (width)
5. Please have your own tools for poster set-up, such as double-side adhesive tape and scotch tape
6. All presenters requested to set up their poster one night before, start form 04:00 pm. Poster should be dismantled in the evening at the end of the program on the same day, at 03:00 pm the latest
7. The schedule of poster presentation is in line with the daily program, and presenter may please be near their poster(s) at the scheduled time
8. Poster will be visited each day and all presenters should be at their posters at the scheduled time
9. The secretariat is NOT responsible for posters that have not been removed/collected by the end of the day
10. Registration for the conference is mandatory for Poster Presentation

Guideline For Oral Presentations 
If  you will be presenting your research at a paper session or symposium, and will be using Powerpoint, please be prepared to load your slides on to the laptop in your session room on the day of your presentation, during a break prior to the beginning of your session. The name of the room where your session will be held will be available in the meeting program provided when you register at the Registration Desk at the meeting.
