Australia and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (ANZHPBA) Annual Meeting 2017
We look forward to welcoming you all to the 2017 ANZHPBA annual meeting. This year the venue is the InterContinental Adelaide in the heart of the city’s exciting new river precinct. The focus of the meeting is “Emergency HPB surgery” and will cover topics from acute cholecystitis and cholangitis, to severe pancreatitis and management of the sick and injured liver. We are also planning a session to discuss the interface between specialist HPB surgeons and acute general surgeons in managing emergency HPB surgical issues. The program is designed to be of interest to all GI surgeons from registrars to specialist HPB surgeons. There will be technical tips interspersed with science, and updates. The single room format encourages healthy discussion for all.
We are privileged to have distinguished international speakers attending – Professor Giles Toogood an experienced HPB and Liver Transplant surgeon from St James University Hospital in Leeds, UK, and Professor Winston Woon, Head of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery at the National University of Singapore.
The conference dinner is being held in the Ian McLachlan Room at the beautiful Adelaide Oval and will be a great way to catch up socially with your colleagues.
Adelaide is hard to beat as a venue with many of the city’s street-side bars and restaurants within a stone’s throw of the InterContinental. A high-quality program with distinguished international and local speakers covering many issues of importance to all surgeons dealing with acute surgical presentations will make the meeting a must for many. We also encourage those interested, to stay on for an extra day immediately after the meeting for a laparoscopic duct exploration workshop under the guidance of Les Nathanson.
