San Francisco Has All-Around Appeal
The sights and scenery. The one-of-a-kind events and world-class food. The welcoming people, the diversity and rich history … it all comes together to make the City by the Bay 49 of the most interesting square miles on the planet. Announcing San Francisco as your meeting location will have attendees thinking of the Golden Gate Bridge and cable cars. The results: record-breaking attendance in many cases.
It’s Easy to Get To (and Get Around)
San Francisco International Airport (SFO) offers nonstop flights to more than 31 international points on 30 international carriers. The Bay Area’s largest airport connects nonstop with 76 cities in the U.S. on 15 domestic airlines. Located just 14 miles south of the city, it is also directly connected to downtown San Francisco by Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART). Once you’ve arrived, get out those walking shoes because San Francisco is ranked as one of the top walking cities in the U.S.
Moscone Center: New Amenities, great location
Located just off I-80 and blocks from Union Square, Moscone Center is about as central as it gets in San Francisco’s seven-by-seven grid. It’s walking distance to hotels, restaurants, museums, attractions, public transit and more. The completion of a $56 million renovation in June 2012 ensures that more than 2 million square feet of meeting and exhibit space are fresher than ever. But the most popular upgrade might be one you never see: The wireless infrastructure can now support as many as 60,000 devices, which means attendees can stay connected.
The 2015 BIO Exhibition featured more than 1,800 exhibitors and covered over 160,000 square feet. The event included 55 state, regional and country pavilions who in turn hosted many companies from their regions.
Exhibitors reach high-level executives and influential decision makers who come to BIO to discover new players in the industry, form partnerships and evaluate emerging technologies.
2015 attracted 15,800 attendees from thousands of organizations including the leading biotech companies, top 25 pharma companies, top 20 CROs and CMOs, more than 300 academic institutions including the major research labs and government agencies and the leading consultants and service companies.
