The BSACI Annual Meeting will once again apply for accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians.

An email to delegates will be issued after the meeting with a link to the evaluation form and information on downloading certificates of attendance.

Delegates who are not members of the Royal College of Physicians can either use this certificate as proof of attendance or a ‘Certificate of attendance’.

Welcome message:

We are delighted to invite you to the British Society for Allergy & Clinical Immunology Annual Meeting. The 2018 meeting will be held at the Telford International Centre from Sunday 30th September to Tuesday 2nd October 2018. Located on the outskirts of Telford, 40 minutes from Birmingham and a little over 2 hours from London, it is easy to get to and has excellent on-site accommodation.

The 2018 programme will cover a broad range of topics – food allergy, asthma, eczema, basic science, drug allergy, rhinology, immunotherapy, cutaneous allergy, component-resolved diagnosis, psychological well-being of patients, families and staff, and service improvement, amongst others. We are planning joint sessions with the British Association of Dermatologists, the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the British Society of Immunology, EAACI and the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy. We will have expert clinicians, basic scientists, primary care physicians, nurses and dieticians amongst our speakers.

Submission Info

The Scientific Committee at BSACI promotes innovative work that improves care for patients and our understanding of allergic disease. We therefore invite you to submit an abstract summarising your work.

All accepted abstracts will be awarded space for display throughout the conference and adjudication during the poster session at the meeting.

Delegates will present their posters and receive feedback during adjudication. Judges will consider the work presented in terms of:

Originality and quality

Relevance to practice

Presentation and discussion of poster

Six Barry Kay Awards are conferred upon presenting delegates each year. One award is given in each of the following Judging Categories:

Basic Science

Adult Clinical

Paediatric Clinical

Primary Care

Allied Health


Please ensure:

abstracts are submitted by 5pm (17:00) BST Monday 25th June 2018

the abstract is no longer than 300 words (approx. 2000 characters)

the title is no longer that 25 words (approx. 150 characters)

authors’ names are submitted in the format ‘ A. Smith’

abstracts are structured using:

     1.Objective, 2.Methods, 3.Results and 4.Conclusions

or for case presentations using:

     1.Background, 2.Case presentation, 3.Discussion and 4.Conclusions

your abstract contains the results data. Any ‘unfinished’ abstracts (promising fresh results on the poster) will be rejected

no tables, charts or figures are included with the submission (they cannot be read by our peer reviewers)

the submitting author is the presenting author (only registered delegates may present an abstract at the meeting).

The submitting author is required to ensure that all co-authors agree for their names to support the submission, and that co-authors agree that the data reported can be considered for publication in our journal Clinical & Experimental Allergy using the same abstract submission.

There are a total of five industry sponsored satellite symposia sessions available during the meeting.

The symposium slots are a fantastic opportunity for you to engage with the audience. Each slot runs for 1 hour plus 15 minutes set up time. The symposium session are held within one of the main meeting rooms and include the full stage and av package and technicians.
