European Biosafety Association (EBSA) was founded in June 1996. It is a not for profit organisation which aims to provide a forum for its members to discuss and debate issues of concern and to represent those working in the field of biosafety and associated activities. The Association has individual members, representing over 24 countries in Europe, as well as other regions. EBSA is open to anyone working in the field, providing unique networking opportunities. Members range from students to senior professionals, from disciplines as diverse as healthcare, academia, emergency response, pharmaceutical/biotech industries and regulatory affairs.
The European Biosafety Association (EBSA) establishes and communicates best biosafety and biosecurity practices amongst its members and encourages dialogue and discussions on developing issues.
EBSA represents and defends the collective interests of its members in all areas relating to biosafety and biosecurity.
EBSA influences and supports emerging legislation and standards, with the objective of ensuring the prevention of harm to man or the environment from biological substances or materials.

As part of the effort of the Conference Programme Working Group (CPWG) to establish an attractive scientific programme, you are invited to submit papers for presentation within the main conference. In particular speaker slots have been reserved for papers that fit with one of the following themes:
- Biosfatey aspects of working with animals
- Biosafety in clinical settings
- Communicating risk
- Field to lab & hospital
The person presenting a paper selected for oral presentation will benefit from having the conference registration fee waived.
Applications for oral and poster presentations are now invited and these should be made in the form of a short abstract (template).
All submissions for oral presentations must be received by the EBSA conference office

EBSA is a non-profit organisation that depends mainly on the financial support of its members. Sponsorship helps keep fees affordable to the entire biosafety community.
