GENOMIC INSTABILITY AND GENE THERAPEUTICS IN NEUROLOGICAL DISEASES 2018
With the rapidly emerging new tools including genomics, bioinformatics, metabolomics and proteomic analysis and new powerful editing tools such as CRISPR/CAS9 we are getting closer to more defined understanding of the complex cellular pathways underpinning neurodegeneration, which underlie many debilitating pathological and age-associated neurological demise. This is a great opportunity to assemble a rich programme of international speakers to address the latest advances from basic research to clinical applications in disorders of the central nervous system.
The conference will primarily focus on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/frontotemporal dementia (ALS/FTD), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, and repeat expansion disorders with translational spin focussing on recent advances in gene based-therapeutics.
Our aim is to share ideas, exchange knowledge and inspire young and established investigators to embrace new research directions. The conference will be chaired by Sherif El-Khamisy and Mimoun Azzouz together with leaders in the field of neurodegeneration. The conference will host many established speakers in the field and a number of oral presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts.

The Fiesta Americana Condesa, Cancun is the 2015 Winner of the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence and also received the Travellers Choice Award in 2014.
The remains of ancient Mayan cities are scattered throughout the Yucatan Peninsula and no trip to Cancun would be complete without a visit to these majestic temples and pyramids set amongst lush tropical vegetation. We will be working very closely with a reputable tour company who will be organising trips to Tulum, Chichen Itza, Coba and Xcaret to name a few, some of which may require a full day. Full day excursions will be arranged pre or post conference and may be on an individual or group booking so we would recommend booking extra nights to extend your stay as early as possible to avoid disappointment should these excursions be of interest to you and/or your party. For further information please contact us.
