This course is designed for primary care providers, internists, family physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who provide care for elderly patients, including those living in the community, assisted living and nursing home settings.


Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:


Classify optimum blood pressure parameters for the older adult in light of the new hypertension guidelines

Develop a practical approach to complex decisions about osteoporosis management in the oldest old

Recognize the importance of HIV screening in older adults

Review cases in complex geriatric dilemmas in anticoagulation, hematologic conditions, insomnia, and diabetes
