Gordon Research Conference on Biology of Host-Parasite Interactions
The 2016 GRC on the Biology of Host-Parasite Interactions is focused on new molecular and translational advances in parasitic diseases. The conference will place special emphasis on the interdisciplinary approaches needed for new discoveries as well as effective therapeutic strategies to control a wide range of human and veterinarian pathogens that cause malaria, toxoplasmosis, trypanosomiasis, leishmaniasis, amoebiasis and worm infections. The program will feature a wide range of topics including pharma programs of drug discovery and development in parasitic diseases, rapid advance of new therapies to treat human disease and block transmission, the challenges of drug resistance, lipid and protein signaling mechanisms, additional new targets in entry, intracellular development, differentiation and transmission and the latest in molecular, biochemical and genetic tools that empower new molecular and translational paradigms of therapy.
The aim of the meeting is to bring together scientists from all over the globe (with special emphasis on young scientists from endemic areas) to share and synthesize knowledge to drive future control and elimination research agendas. This GRC conference and its associated GRS offer unique opportunity early career scientists and graduate students to lead amongst their peers and exchange ideas at the forefront of research in a serene but stimulating atmosphere at the Salve Regina University Campus, Newport. Short talks will be selected from submitted abstracts reporting latest ground-breaking findings. Students, post-docs and early career scientists are strongly encouraged to apply to the GRC and GRS. Special efforts are being made to raise funds to provide individuals from endemic countries with support.
