Harnessing Technology for Aging in Place
Around the world seniors have expressed a preference for aging-in-place in their familiar dwelling and/or neighborhood. This year's John K. Friesen conference places the spotlight on technologies that can enable them to do so. Speakers will describe "health smart homes" in which sensors monitor residents' vital signs remotely and signal health care professionals when there is an important change; m-health technologies that enable people to self-monitor from their mobile phone or tablet computer; robotic home helpers; and more.
We cordially invite you to join us in exploring apps and assisstive devices currently on the market and to hear about new ones that are under development in Canada and internationally that may be helpful for you, your older adult loved ones or your clients - whether they are aging-in-place in single family houses, apartment blocks, assisted living or in residential care.
Vancouver is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Plan now to join us in Vancouver in May 2015 for the Friesen conference.
