Indian Rheumatology Association 30th Annual Conference 2014 (IRACON 2014)
It gives me immense pleasure that the Department of Internal Medicine, Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh is organizing the 30th Annual Conference of Indian Rheumatology Association (IRACON 2014) on 27-30th November, 2014. There is enormous burden of musculoskeletal diseases in our country, which are amongst the most common and disabling 'non-communicable' diseases. There have been several advances in the field of rheumatology and the theme of the conference 'bridging the gap' aptly reflects the need of the nation.
PGIMER has been providing the dedicated rheumatology services for a long time after the establishment of a rheumatology clinic by Late Prof. S. D. Deodhar almost five decades ago. This conference is being held at PGIMER, Chandigarh after a gap of 13 years, and I am sure that the scientific program will be stimulating and thought provoking.
The weather in Chandigarh will be pleasant and I hope that the Guest Faculty and delegates will enjoy the academic feast along with warm hospitality.
