Dear colleagues and friends of the IID,
As President of the IID meeting and on behalf of the three organising societies ESDR, SID, and JSID I would like to cordially invite you to Edinburgh in 2013! As in the past, this IID conference that is only held every five years, promises to become a mega event of exciting science, collegiality, and social interactions. As all three sister societies will not have a meeting of their own in 2013, the IID meeting will definitely become the hot-spot of science in Dermatology that year!
Together with the LOC, the three organising sister societies will do their best to ensure a high-profile meeting with regard to the science presented, but also with regard to an exciting meeting venue that allows quality interactions both scientifically and socially amongst attendees. Internationally renowned scientists will join the meeting and guarantee a stimulating exchange of the latest scientific information.
The ESDR has selected Edinburgh as the meeting venue for the IID meeting in 2013, because the city is well-connected to international travel and offers a multitude of congress facilities, accomodation, as well as a stimulating atmosphere. Edinburgh itself is a beautiful ancient city that reflects a lot of “Old Europe” in a charming way. Besides being a World Heritage City, Edinburgh also offers a special “Scottish” touch that is appreciated by many tourists every year and that makes the city one of the prime destinations for travellers in Britain.
As in the past, the IID meeting is also meant to attract young scientists in Dermatology worldwide. Therefore all three societies will devote a strong effort to provide travel grants to gifted young scientists to facilitate their participation in the IID meeting.
In light of the statements above we may all look forward to a stimulating and “young” meeting in the Old World!
I hope to see many of you at this special event in 2013 in Edinburgh!
Yours Sincerely,
Alexander H. Enk
President of the IID meeting
