International Vein Congress (IVC) in collaboration with Society of Vascular Surgery (SVS) is organized by Cine-Med Inc and would be held during Apr 19 - 21, 2018 at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, Miami Beach, Florida, United States of America. 


The target audience for this medical event for vascular surgeons, general surgeons, interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists, cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, phlebologists and other physicians, nurses and technologists.


This CME Conference has been approved with a maximum of 21.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. 


Conference Objectives are : 

• Understand the potential safety issues associated with office-based venous surgery. 

• Use ultrasound to diagnose & manage venous disease.

• Incorporate endovenous (thermal, chemical, surgical) modalities for closure of the refluxing saphenous vein.

• Choose the best therapy for the eradication of secondary venous clusters with stab phlebectomy, powered phlebectomy, & foam sclerotherapy.

• Manage incompetent perforating veins & venous ulcers in the office.

• Implement the most appropriate therapy for spider telangiectasias using sclerotherapy, ohmic thermolysis, & cutaneous laser.

• Incorporate fluoroscopic contrast venography in the management of deep venous disease & pelvic congestion syndrome.

• Utilize intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) in the treatment of iliocaval obstructive venous disease.

• Describe how to perform iliocaval angioplasty & stenting.

• Recognize & manage common thrombophilias.

• Choose medical versus surgical management of deep vein thrombosis.

• Implement pharmacomechanical thrombolysis & caval interruption or acute deep vein thrombosis.

• Administer the business requirements of a combined office & hospital based venous disease practice.

• Apply branding & marketing strategies into an office based venous practice.

Editorial Guidelines for Abstract Submission

It is our pleasure to invite you to participate in International Vein Congress (IVC) abstract submission process - an opportunity to be considered for publication in the Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders (JVSVL), the official journal of the Society For Vascular Surgery.


IVC only accepts electronic abstract submissions via this website. The submission deadline is March 1, 2018.


Rules for Submission of Abstracts

Abstracts must meet the following JVSVL criteria:


All authors must attest that presentations given at IVC must be original, and have never been presented or published before the date of presentation at IVC. Those found to be in violation of this policy will be prohibited from presenting at the IVC for the next two years.

No reference should be made in the abstract to the names or institutions of the authors.

Abstracts must be structured as follows: 1) Background 2) Methods 3) Results 4) Conclusions

Abstract text must be between 50 (minimum) and 500 (maximum) words. Each table and/or graph will count as 25 words in the total word count.

Abstracts must fall under one of the following categories:

Anti-Coagulation

Basic Science

Chronic Vein Obstruction

Compression/Wound Care

Diagnostic Testing and Imaging

Lymphedema

Superficial Vein Disease

Venous Thromboembolism/IVC Filters


Presentation Types*

Oral Presentation: 10 minutes in length.

Poster Display: Posters are displayed during the meeting. There is no presentation.

*Your presentation preference will be given every consideration; however, the final determination will be made by the Program Committee.


Publication Policy

After submitting your abstract to IVC we will notify you of acceptance. Authors of abstracts accepted for oral presentation at IVC are required to submit a formal manuscript to be considered for publication in JVSVL. Failure to submit a manuscript to JVSVL may result in disqualification for future abstract submission.


Abstract Text Format

Your abstracts must be submitted to IVC in JVSVL format. Abstracts that are formatted incorrectly will cause production problems that could lead to major delays in publication. The document must contain a title, tables, and figures, in the order that they should be published.
