An application will be made to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) for CME accreditation of the XXXIV Symposium of the International Society of Dermatopathology for medical specialists in pathology, dermatology and venereology.
The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net
EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA)  and by the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.

Transportation (how to reach Florence)

By Air

There are frequent direct flights to all the most important European cities as well as convenient intercontinental connections.
Florence Airport "Amerigo Vespucci" is only 5 km from the city centre. Bus and taxi transportation is available between the airport and city centre. A bus connection (Volainbus) is operating from the airport to the city centre (main railway station) every 20-25 minutes. 
The Pisa Airport "Galileo Galilei" (80 km far from Florence centre) is served by several international airlines and is connected to Florence by a shuttle train operating every hour. The trip takes approximately 1 hour.

By Train

The new high speed trains, conveniently and comfortably, connect the main railway station "Santa Maria Novella" to all the most important European cities. Eurostar trains connect Florence with Milan (2 hrs approximately) and Rome (1 hr and 30 min approximately).

How to reach the Congress Venue (Convitto della Calza)

By Car

A1 Motorway Autostrada del Sole 
Exit to Firenze Impruneta, follow the signs for the city centre and Piazzale di Porta Romana. Pass through the ancient gate and you arrive at Piazza della Calza.

A11 Motorway Autostrada del Mare
Get in A1 Motorway and exit to Firenze Impruneta.

By Bus

Florence has a comprehensive network of local bus routes. Most of them stop at the main railway station, Santa Maria Novella. Bus tickets can be purchased at most coffee bars and kiosks. Fare is € 1,20 multiple trips, valid up to 90 minutes and € 12,00 a 3 day-ticket (updated to December 2012).
From the main railway station, take one of the following ATAF buses: 36 (to Galluzzo/Le Gore/Cascine del Riccio), 37 (to Galluzzo/Tavarnuzze), 11 (to Due Strade) or 12 (to Porta Roma/Piazzale) and get off in Piazza Della Calza/Porta Romana.

By Taxis

Taxis in Florence can be ordered by phone (Tel. +39 055 4242 or 4390) or found at the official taxi stands. You cannot stop a taxi on the road.

Car parking

There are several parking areas around the Congress venue.
Parcheggio Oltrarno (managed by Firenze Parcheggi) is situated close to Convitto della Calza and all guests are entitled to a discount of 30% on standard fees.

E' stato attivato il sistema di pagamento tramite TELEPASS. Attualmente per usufruire dello sconto del 30% è necessario che il telepass venga disattivato o rimosso prima di entrare nel parcheggio per evitare che venga letto erroneamente e addebitato. Così facendo è possibile entrare nel parcheggio ritirando semplicemente il biglietto di apertura della sbarra e poi alla reception del Convitto della Calza ritirare il biglietto di sconto del 30%

Hotel accommodation can be reserved at reduced rates in Florence hotels through the intermediary of the Organizing Secreteriat OIC. Only booking made in advance through the Organizing Secreteriat OIC will guarantee these rates.

In order to benefit from the reservation system for the different hotel facilities available downtown Florence and near to the Congress Venue Convitto della Calza, participants may proceed with the online system or download the available form to be returned by 10 September 2013 at the latest.

The down payment amounts required for each hotel category are indicated in the below chart. Hotel balance is required by 26 July 2013. For requests of reservations received from 27 July to 10 September 2013, the full pre-payment will be required.

Any changes or cancellations in connection with registration fees, hotel accommodation, excursions and social events must be sent in writing to Organizing Secreteriat OIC, fax +39 055 5035230, e-mail:registration@isdp2013.org.

 

For hotel accommodations the paid amounts will be refunded as follows:

  • within 26 May 2013: only € 25,00 will be withheld for administrative charge
  • from 27 May to 26 July 2013: one night accommodation will be withheld as penalty charge
  • from 27 July to 10 September 2013: 30% of the paid amount will be refunded. Please note: 70% of the paid fee will be withheld as penalty charge
  • from 10 September 2013: no refund will be made for cancellations or last minute changes.
  • No-shows: 100% of the foreseen total amount will be withheld as penalty charge.

All approved refunds will be processed and issued after the congress.
