The Karnataka chapter of RSSDI is an organization of dedicated professionals and researchers involved in diabetes care all over the state of Karnataka. It has been active in its crusade against diabetes and has been propagating diabetes care, education and research with commitment.

Every year, the Karnataka chapter of RSSDI organizes a state level conference to provide a platform for health care professionals to interact and exchange knowledge with experts in the field of diabetes from India and abroad. KRSSDI MANGALORE 2014 is the tenth annual conclave and Father Muller Medical College in the city of Mangalore has been bestowed with the honor of conducting this decennial event.

Father Muller Charitable institutions have been in health care service since 1880 and have marched forwards with their vision to heal and comfort the suffering humanity and thus to become a global leader in medical education and research. Successive generations have inherited the rich legacy of Rev. Father Augustus Muller in combining compassion with skill while providing service towards humanity.

For postgraduates, limited accommodations at nominal tariffs are available. For advance booking, postgraduates should have registered as a delegate for the conclave and the registration number is mandatory in the accommodation requestion. The rooms will be allotted on first-come-first basis subject to availability.

Note: Persons accompanying postgraduates can avail this facility provided they have registered separately as a conference delegate.

The following is the tariff for postgraduate accommodation:
Single room: Rs 500/- per person per day
  Double room (Shared by two persons): Rs 300/- per person per day
For advance booking, a requisition letter (with the registration no., email id, mobile no. and single/double room preference) and demand draft drawn in favour of ‘KRSSDI MANGALORE 2014’, payable at Mangalore should reach the conclave secretariat on or before 30th August 2014.

Abstracts for the KRSSDI Mangalore – 2014 Decennial Conclave Scientific Sessions
All Abstracts must be submitted online via our website. The last date for submission is August 10, 2014 at 6 pm. Faxed or mailed abstracts will not be accepted.
The submitting author should have registered as a delegate to KRSSDI Mangalore – 2014. Submission of abstracts is not possible without the conference registration number. (Registration is free for postgraduates)
Abstracts must be original contributions and should fall into one of three presentation types:
Original Research
Clinical Trial
Case report / Case series
The abstracts should not have been previously presented at any national or international meetings or published in any format. Violators of this policy may be subject to withdrawal of the abstract. Acceptance of future abstracts in RSSDI may be jeopardized if such violation is found.
Any topic related to diabetes can be the focus of your research paper. Abstracts reflecting our theme ‘Diabetes in Young – Emerging challenges’ will be considered for awards.
For example:
Problems in Children and adolescents with diabetes
Diabetes in Young - other than Type 2
Genetics of Diabetes in young
Challenges in gestational diabetes – the Indian context
Innovations in outpatient care
Secondary diabetes
And any interesting aspect of diabetes
All submitted abstracts are peer reviewed and ranked by experts in diabetes . The submitting author can indicate whether they prefer a platform or poster presentation. But the final decision regarding acceptance of the paper and its mode of presentation (as a paper presentation or poster presentation) rests with the scientific committee. The scientific Committee will schedule the oral / poster presentations. Presenting authors will NOT be allowed to reschedule their presentations.
  Until the deadline, submitting authors will be able to return to the site to make revisions in their abstract and author names. REVISIONS will not be possible after 6 pm on August 10th. Revsion of the tite is not permitted. It is the responsibility of the primary authors to inform their co-authors of any changes in the names so as to avoid misunderstanding/confusion.
The number of authors should be restricted to a maximum of 4 if it is case report and 6 if it is original articles/ clinical trials. The submitting author will be listed as the primary author on the abstract. They should be physically present at the conclave venue at the time of presentation. If the presenting author is not in a position to be present at the time of presentation, the scientific committee should be intimated in advance. The final decision to allow an alternative person to be a presenter will be taken by the scientific committee.
A confirmation email will be sent to the primary author to confirm receipt of the abstract and to notify if the abstract was accepted by August 20, 2014.
Guidelines for the abstracts
  Font: Times New Roman. Font Size : Title/ subtitles : 14; Text : 12
Title: ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS, BOLD PRINT, and as concise as possible. 

Text: Abstracts are limited to 300 words not including spaces, with a structured format consisting of the introduction, methodology, Results and discussions. Abstracts should be text – no figures or graphics are allowed

Introduction: Clearly state the purpose of the abstract 

Methodology: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects. 

Results and Discussion: Present your results in a logical sequence in text.

Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study and conclusions that are drawn from them.
Note: Do NOT include grant support information in the abstract body. The use of standard abbreviations is requested.
Abstracts must be written in English. At least 3 keywords, preferably using terms from Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) list of Index Medicus, should be listed for cross-indexing of the article.
