Welcome message:
The Anesthesiology Center for Patient Simulation at University of Utah Health offers realistic immersive patient simulation education for ABA Diplomates seeking to fulfill their Practice Performance Assessment and Improvement (PPAI) requirement for MOCA®. This simulation course may be used to fulfill part of the ABA's Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program (MOCA®) requirements. Please consult the ABA website for a list of all MOCA® requirements. The simulation program at the University of Utah has been endorsed by the American Society of Anesthesiologist’s (ASA) Committee on Simulation Education to provide high quality training to ASA members.

Deborah A. Axelrod, MD

Dr. Axelrod received her Baccalaureate of Arts degree in psychology at Stanford University in Stanford, California in 1999, her medical degree at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2005, a transitional internship at the Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan in 2006,

Ken B. Johnson, MD, MS

Dr. Johnson completed his undergraduate education at the University of California at Berkeley graduating with honors in engineering. Graduate work included both a medical degree and a Masters of Science in bioengineering from Tulane University
