Mayo Clinic 2nd Annual Update on Infectious Diseases for Primary Care 2017
Up to date and practical information on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the infectious diseases you see most in your practice!
The field of infectious diseases is rapidly evolving with new diseases, diagnostic modalities, antimicrobial resistance and new paradigms for treatment. This new course combines the essentials of Coccidioidomycosis with an update on how to manage infections encountered in the outpatient setting. This course will utilize lectures, case presentations and interactive discussion to enhance providers knowledge and ability to diagnose, treat and prevent the infections commonly seen in practice.
This course is designed for Primary Care, Internal Medicine, General Practice and Family Medicine providers, nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other allied health practitioners.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
Diagnose Coccioidomycosis
Treat common tick-borne disease
Counsel patients regarding Zika virus infections
Treat C. difficile and other enteric infections
Explain new developments in management of common intra-abdominal infections
Management of adult vaccinations
Recognize common infectious disease emergencies
Assess what has changed in the epidemiology and treatment of community acquired pneumonia
Review new antimicrobial agents
