Event Overview
Welcome message:

This course features an internationally renowned faculty of researchers, scientists and clinicians who will present on “Myoclonus and other Jerky Movements”. Jerky movements in clinical practice are challenging in defining the type of involuntary movement, but also in the broad underlying etiology given its varied manifestations, in both acquired and genetically determined disorders.

The first day’s sessions will highlight the clinical spectrum of jerky movements in both adults and children, followed by specific sessions on acquired, neurodegenerative, psychiatric and sleep disorders. After the clinical presentations we will focus on the pathophysiology.

The second day will address genetic aspects and treatment options, including DBS. In addition, young investigators are invited to submit abstracts for a poster presentation on the second day. Prize money will be awarded to the best poster presentation, as judged by the Scientific Advisory Board for the conference.
