Nerve Blocks (Jun, 2017)
Nerve Blocks is organized by Australian Institute of Ultrasound (AIU) and would be held on Jun 15, 2017 at Australian Institute of Ultrasound (AIU), Gold coast, Queensland, Australia.
The target audience for this medical event basically for Anaesthetists and Point Of Care clinicians interested in developing their skills in ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia. This course will be run by our supporting Clinical Facility (Dr Craig Daniel and Dr Phil Stagg) with expertise in a range of upper, lower, core and trunk blocks.
Specific Blocks Include :
• Interscalene Brachial Plexus
• Axillary Brachial Plexus
• Femoral nerve
• Adductor Canal
• Popliteal Sciatic
• Supra/Infraclavicular
• Brachial Plexus
• Proximal Sciatic
• TAP block
• PECS blocks
• Paravertebral blocks
Objectives :
• To identify the ultrasound appearances of nerves and relational anatomical landmarks for specific upper, lower, trunk and core blocks
• To optimise the ultrasound machine to enhance visualisation of the anatomical regions
• To apply ultrasound protocols to correctly locate blocks
• To develop techniques to avoid nerve injury and troubleshoot complications associated with nerve injury
