Nursing Children Conference 2018
Do you regularly, or even occasionally, care for children, but do not work in a paediatric unit? Have you identified a need for a contemporary update on children’s health? New evidence is constantly emerging. It’s essential you have access to this knowledge so you can provide care that is free from harm, family-centred and meets the whole needs of a child and their family. Discover:
Shining a light on paediatric eye conditions
Ouch, my chest – is it serious?
Not just child’s play – non-pharmacological interventions for trauma
Advances in hereditary metabolic disorders
Avoiding anaphylaxis in children with IgE-mediated food allergies
Communicating with children who have special needs and much, much more
Promoting health in children involves nurses at many touch points. Providing safe, family-centred care when confronted with paediatric health situations requires specific knowledge about children. However, it may be difficult for nurses to routinely access such knowledge because it is often considered a specialist area of health. For nurses to remain confident and competent to care for children regular paediatric updates are essential.
Purpose of Program
The purpose of this conference is to provide knowledge of evidence-based nursing practice about a general range of conditions that relate to children so as to improve overall family health outcomes.
