OAS 2018 – The 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society
The purpose of the OAS meeting is to educate OAS members, as well as other interested healthcare professionals, and share information that will enable them to provide the highest level of anesthesia service during ophthalmic surgery.
This meeting is of interest to anesthesiologists, ophthalmologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), registered nurses (RNs) and other medical professionals working in ophthalmic anesthesia.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants will be able to:
Identify the latest anesthesia techniques for ophthalmic surgery.
Review pertinent historical and anatomical information related to ophthalmic anesthesia.
Evaluate different anesthesia techniques to determine which might warrant a change in current practice.
Generate an increased or sustained interest in developing knowledge, acquiring skills and continuing education in the area of ophthalmic anesthesiology.
Want to learn more? Here's what last year's attendees had to say:
“I love the diversity of the participants at this meeting: ophtho mixes with anesthesia, nursing mixes with MDs.”
“As always, it was the networking that is done at this meeting. Most of the CRNAs at the meeting (some of us older CRNAs) are a group that has done hundreds of thousands of blocks and eye cases. I love bouncing new techniques off of them and finding out what is new to their practices. Practitioners new to ophthalmic anesthesia and even ophthalmologist who are looking to improve any aspect of their surgical practices could gain from networking with some of the "old timers" at the meeting.”
“I liked the variety, alternating between eyes and anesthesia. I liked the different formats of audience participation. I liked the short lectures.”
“Presentations offered multiple solutions for difficulties encountered during ophthalmic anesthesia and surgery. I appreciated that.”
