Event Overview
Welcome message:

Orbs Meetings was founded by Oncoplastic Surgeons, Douglas Macmillan and Stephen McCulley and was established as a forum to present advances in techniques and research in Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery.

The first international scientific conference was held in Nottingham in 2008. Orbs conferences are held annually alternating between technical and scientific programmes with the opportunity to visit oncoplastic and reconstructive focused exhibitors. In addition, we have extended our programme to include one day workshops as well as the Nordic Orbs Meeting which took place on the 5th - 6th May 2016 and included live  surgery. All content from this meeting can be found on www.orbsweb.com

OrbsWeb is the meeting’s web companion, an extensive online library of presentations for clinicians working in the field of oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery. Registration for Orbsweb is free for those attending one of our meetings or workshops. Full access will be given to videos, presentations, abstracts and publications.

NOTTINGHAM CONFERENCE CENTRE

BURTON STREET, NOTTINGHAM, NG1 4BU

Situated in the heart of Nottingham city, Nottingham Conference Centre is easily accessible by road, rail and air.

The Centre is conveniently located within easy reach of the M1 motorway, only one mile from Nottingham Train Station - where guests can travel 90 minutes direct from Central London - and within a 30-minute drive of East Midlands Airport, making Nottingham Conference Centre one of the best-connected venues in the region.

With a vast array of hotels, shops, bars, restaurants, galleries, cinemas and theatres within walking distance of the venue, delegates and guests have the opportunity to relax and unwind in one of the UK's most vibrant cities without the need to travel.

TRAVELLING BY CAR

Nottingham Conference Centre is in the perfect location for car travel with easy access from the M1 and plenty of car parking options adjacent and next door to the Conference Centre. For Sat Nav purposes, we recommend using postcode - NG1 4BU.

From the M1 North to NCC

Leave the M1 motorway at junction 26 and follow the A610 signposted to Nottingham. Continue through two roundabouts for approximately 4.3 miles and then take a slight left onto Talbot Street. Continue down Talbot Street for a further 0.5 miles and the Conference Centre will be located on the left.

From the M1 South to NCC

Leave the M1 motorway at junction 25 and follow the A52 signposted to Nottingham. Head northeast on Brain Clough Way/A52, through three  roundabouts for approximately 5.5 miles. At the forth roundabout, take the second exit onto Derby Road/A6200 and continue to follow A6200 for 1.5 miles. Turn left onto St. Helen’s St and stay right to continue on St Helen’s St. At the T-junction, turn right onto Alfreton Rd/A610 and take the slight left onto Talbot St. Continue for 0.5 miles and the Conference Centre is located on your left.

Venue car parking

We offer discounted parking at Q-Park Talbot Street, located round the corner from the venue, for £7.50 for up to 8 hours and £9.50 for up to 24 hours.  Simply park in the car park as normal and bring your token to our reception team.  Visit our car parking page for more details.

To make the day as accessible as possible, we recommend using one of Nottingham’s Park and Ride services into the centre. Alternatively there are a number of other car parks in the city centre.
