Event Overview
Welcome message:

It is our immense pleasure to welcome you to the Conference on Foot and Ankle Surgery and Podiatrist Meeting during Aug 15-16, 2016 Oregon, USA. The conference will be organized around the theme “Podiatrist Meeting: Perspective and Breakthroughs in foot & ankle surgery” OMICS International’s Podiatrist 2016 invites Podiatrists, Orthopedics, renowned scientists, physicians, surgeons, young researchers, industrial delegates and talented student communities under a single roof where networking and global partnering happens for the acceleration of future research.

Podiatry or podiatric medicine is a branch of medicine devoted to the study of diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity. A podiatrist, also known as a podiatric physician "foot doctor", is a medical professional, a physician devoted to the study and medical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle and lower extremities. This annual gathering of Podiatrist at Podiatrist- 2016 aims to provide an insight about the latest advancement and treatment modalities in the field of foot and ankle injuries, surgeries and other associated prospects.

OMICS International  has an enhanced and highlighted features of scientific partnerships and alliances with development agencies, Institutes, leading research organizations, non-government organizations, and other entities to promote the development-oriented research  across the globe through live streaming, B2B and Scientific Meetings. OMICS International’s Medical Conferences provides an excellent opportunity for the budding scientists and young researchers through its special initiatives like Young Researcher Forum, Poster Presentation and E-poster.

OMICS International Organizes 300+ Scientific Conferences every year across USA, Europe & Asia. Besides 500 Peer reviewed, Open Access Journals, OMICS International has collaborated with more than 1000 Scientific Associations and institutions worldwide to promote information on health care and technologies. These journals are enjoying the support of over 5 million readers; a team of 30.000 eminent scholars are providing editorial support.

Poditriest-2016 annual meeting will take place in New Orleans, USA, a Louisiana city on the Mississippi River, often referred to as the "most unique" in the United States. It will be an excellent opportunity to experience the history, culture and landmarks of New Orleans besides exploring the ongoing research works in the field of foot and ankle surgery.

The global foot and ankle surgical market was valued at an estimated $933.6 million in 2014 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.0%, from 2015 to 2019. The market is dominated by North America, followed by Europe, Asia, and the Rest of the World. The dominance of the North American market can be attributed to the increasing prevalence of sports injuries.

Cosmetic Foot Surgery

Many people are self-conscious about their feet for many reasons. Some of these are hammertoes (toes are claw-like instead of straight) or bunions (protruding bumps just below the big toes on either or both feet). Some people are unhappy with the width of their feet or the length of their toes (too short or too long) or the size of their toenails. For all these people, minor cosmetic foot surgery procedures can correct these conditions and beautify their toes. Cosmetic foot surgery runs the gamut, from injectable fillers to toe shortening or lengthening and bunion and hammertoe surgery when there's no pain or dysfunction. Many of these foot-perfecting techniques are borrowed from medical procedures established years ago to relieve pain and restore function, not to alter the size or look of the foot. In this session details will be discussed about the cosmetic foot and surgical procedures involved with it such as Bunion surgery, Lengthening and shortening of toe, Hammertoe and Toe obesity.

Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery

Reconstructive foot and ankle surgery seeks to relieve the pain and discomfort caused by injury, congenital abnormalities, infection, arthritis, and even improper, narrow footwear. It also aims to restore or improve function and stability. Reconstructive surgical procedures are complex and can involve repairing or transferring tendons, implanting joints, removing tumors, and cutting, grafting, or fusing bone. During reconstruction, internal and external fixation devices—including pins, screws, staples, and wires—as well as casts may be used for repair and stabilization.

This track will focus on different aspects of Reconstructive surgery such as Mini-Tight, Rope Bunion Surgery, Bunion Correction, Flat foot correction, Trauma surgery for fractures and soft tissues, Post-operative care

Diabetic Foot Infections Treatment & Management

Foot complications are common among diabetic patients; foot ulcers are among the more serious consequences. These ulcers frequently become infected, with potentially disastrous progression to deeper spaces and tissues. If not treated promptly and appropriately, diabetic foot infections can become incurable or even lead to septic gangrene, which may require foot amputation. Diagnosing infection in a diabetic foot ulcer is based on clinical signs and symptoms of inflammation

Topics of discussion in this session are  Diabetic foot infections and Surgery, Pathogenesis and epidemiology of Diabetic foot infections ,Diagnosis, Antibiotic therapy, Diabetic foot ulceration, Surgical an Nonsurgical treatments and Chronic osteomyelitis

Bunion Laser Treatment in Podiatry

A bunion, (medical term: hallux abductovalgus) is a condition resulting in boney prominence at the inside of the foot at the big toe joint. A bunion occurs when the big toe begins to deviate toward the second toe. The biggest misconception is that bunions occur from an overgrowth of bone. While that may be true in very few people, the bunion really represents a dislocation of the big toe joint as it bulges against the skin. Lasers are excellent at treating a variety of cosmetic issues throughout the body. A laser is a powerful medical device that focuses light into a narrow beam, creating a high intensity light. It allows for ultra-precise targeted cutting. In the process, the heat of the laser coagulates tissue, and there is less bleeding -- a definite advantage over other conventional methods. Lasers, however, are best used for soft tissue and are known for their use in skin surgery and removal of soft tissue growths. The benefits in bunion surgery remain limited, however, because a bunion is a bone problem and not a skin problem.

This scientific session comprises of  Symptoms and causes of Bunions, Non Operative, treatments for Bunions, Chevron Osteotomy, Lapidus Bunionectomy and Juvenile bunion
