Treatment options for patients with unresectable head and neck cancer have been significantly expanded over the last few years. Combined modality treatment with concomitant chemotherapy and radiotherapy represents the standard of care for patients with advanced head and neck cancer and the introduction of new molecular targeted therapies lead to a further improvement in treatment outcomes. This activity will offer the opportunity to learn from a recognized and experienced multidisciplinary team about current therapeutic options for patients with advanced and metastatic head and neck cancer. Effective interaction between the multidisciplinary team and learners will be encouraged through clinical case discussion and practical sessions dedicated to treatment planning and delivery.
At the end of the educational preceptorship, the participant will be able to:
Define the methodology of the multidisciplinary approach in the clinical management of head and neck cancer patients
