Event Overview
Welcome message:

This course is designed for general and sub-specialized radiologists who take call during off-hours and on weekends and are required to read studies in areas which are different from their weekday routine. Faculty will review commonly seen disorders in key areas of the body which will assist you the next time you are covering outside of your comfort zone. Discussion will focus on pitfalls you want to avoid and how to search for subtle findings. In addition to interpretation of studies, emphasis will be placed on selecting the best modality, given the clinical presentation and the technical factors relevant to the examination. Along with a section on pediatric emergencies, daily case-based reviews will highlight lecture material.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Interpret imaging studies from all regions of the body which are not routinely read
  • Identify studies that require more clinical information
  • Select the correct imaging method when confronted with a clinical presentation
  • Discuss emergency pediatric imaging studies
  • Explain how to handle incidental findings and make appropriate recommendations regarding management to the clinician
