Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (RCPE) Oncology Conference
There have been significant advances in cancer treatment in the last decade however significant challenges remain in early diagnosis and optimal management. This symposium will not focus on specific tumour sites but instead will provide an overview in the challenges in oncology including the management of oncology emergencies, common mistakes resulting in delayed diagnosis and a session on escalation of care and recognising the dying patient. It will conclude with an update on important surgical, radiotherapy and systemic therapy treatment advances in oncology that have a significant impact in improving outcome.
Our speakers have been specifically selected to ensure the day is as stimulating and interactive as possible with plenty of time for a lively discussion. This oncology symposium is designed to attract a wide variety of healthcare professionals including GPs, physicians, doctors' in training, nurse practitioners, medical students and oncologists.
