Welcome message:
There is increasing interest in the use of cervical total disc replacement (TDR)for the treatment of symptomatic degenerative conditions of the cervical spine in patients who do not gain adequate relief from nonoperative management or who have progressive neurological symptoms. The course content will include various aspects of cervical TDR, with particular focus on appropriate indications. A unique feature of the course will be the manufacturers of the 8 devices approved by the FDA for marketing in the United States will each be invited to host a lab station. This will allow participants to receive hands-on experience with the approved devices to determine which one(s) they may want to receive more training and certification to use at their hospitals, and to rule out the ones they prefer not to use.
