Submission Info

Calling for Late Breaking Abstract Submissions.  Submissions received by April 2, 2018, will only be reviewed for a poster presentation.  Please note that the Abstract Submission fee will remain the same for Late Breaking Submissions at $50.00 USD per abstract submitted.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to present your work in front of 1,000 of your peers and colleagues and submit your abstract now!

How to create my account?

If you have not yet registered or submitted an abstract with ICN 2018, click “Create an Account”. After being redirected to the account set-up page you may fill in all personal and professional information as requested. You will then be asked to choose a password. A message giving your personal code and summarizing the data entered will then be sent to you by email and will give you the instructions to follow to finalise your account set-up for abstract submission. Then you are now ready to return to the abstract submission page.

Step 1: How to submit my abstract?

Have all the information about your abstract prepared beforehand.

Corresponding author’s contact details.

Email address.

Full postal address.

Author and coauthors details, full first and family name(s) and email addresses.

Affiliation details: department, institution/hospital, city, state/province (if relevant) and country.

Your abstract must contain:

A succinct title in a single line (maximum 100 characters).

A list of authors with their affiliations. Please identify the first author, or presenting author, if different, with an asterisk*.

A relevant abstract subject to be chosen from the five ICN symposia topics:

Behaviour

Metabolism

Reproduction

Stress

Timing

You should prepare the entire contents of your abstract as a single text file (Word, TextEdit etc.). You can use classic fonts, because the text will automatically be formatted when submitted. Some font issues may occur due to incompatibilities between Mac and PC. We strongly recommend that you avoid Greek letters, but instead use their text counterparts: “Delta” instead of “Δ “ (alpha, beta, gamma, micro, etc.).

Word count is affected when filling the text box, therefore a maximum of 250 words is allowed.

No tables or graph/images are permitted.

Step 2: Select the abstract options (oral and/or poster) and a topic.

The topic of your abstract should be selected from the symposia list. Please select the abstract presentation option, as oral presentations will be selected through a competitive process. This information will be used to classify your abstract for reviewing purposes. Also we ask you to indicate whether you would like to be considered for a trainee travel award.

Step 3: Title

The title must be in sentence case (lowercase).

Your title must fit on a single line using 100 characters or less (including spaces).

You should avoid using abbreviations, if possible, but common acronyms are acceptable.

Step 4: Authors

Prepare the list of authors and coauthors before submitting your abstract. The first author should be the presenting author, if possible, and if not the presenting author should be indicated.

Step 5: Text

Your abstract must not exceed 250 words.

You should prepare your abstract as a text file (Word, TextEdit, etc.). Text will automatically be formatted when submitted. Some font issues may occur due to incompatibilities between Mac and PC. We strongly recommend that you avoid Greek letters, but instead use their text counterparts: “Delta” instead of “Δ “ (alpha, beta, gamma, micro, etc.).

Tables, pictures, images are not accepted.

Step 6: Validation and submission

The abstract is automatically registered as a “draft” status. As long as you do not submit the final version, you can change your abstract until the submission deadline by returning to the submit page using your account login. Once submitted no further changes are allowed.

IMPORTANT: Abstracts with a “Submitted” status will be forwarded to the Abstract Review Committee. It is your responsibility to submit your abstract by clicking on the “submit” arrow before the deadline (January 26, 2018, midnight PST).

After clicking the “Submit” link, you will receive an email confirmation of your submission.

Step 7: Evaluation

After the submission deadline, abstracts will be sent to the Abstract Review Committee according to the chosen symposia topic. The Abstract Review Committee will decide whether the abstract is acceptable for the meeting, and subsequently whether the abstract is accepted as an oral or poster presentation based upon the final rankings.

All delegates will receive the final status (accepted or rejected) by email before the early registration deadline for ICN 2018 (March 15, 2018).
