In the meantime, we hope our website gives you an idea of what is possible for your event. What do we mean to Edinburgh?
The EICC is owned by the City of Edinburgh Council and operates as an independent commercial venture. With its history, architecture and festivals, Edinburgh has long been popular with tourists but the EICC was built to attract more business visitors. Since opening in 1995, we have welcomed over a million delegates through our doors for more than 2,500 events, generating £400m in economic impact for the city. But perhaps more importantly, the EICC is also a source of great pride for a city that has flourished through celebrating its past whilst always looking to the future.EICC Customer Promise

The Edinburgh International Conference Centre aims to set a new world-wide standard in Customer Satisfaction. We are delighted to share with you the details of the Society for Endocrinology BES 2015 conference, held in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), situated in the heart of the historic city of Edinburgh. The city is a designated World Heritage site, with beautiful architecture, galleries, museums, theatres and arts venues, and is bustling with life and innovation.
Since 1946, the Society has served as the UK voice of endocrinology by advancing scientific and clinical education and research. Attracting a diverse audience of scientists, clinicians and nurses, from trainees to Nobel Prize winners, SfE BES is firmly established as a key event in the endocrine calendar. International experts across the breadth of endocrinology will deliver a wealth of presentations at SfE BES 2015 in the form of plenary lectures, symposia, oral communications and workshops.
This year, SfE BES has moved to the autumn and has been shortened to three days, making it easier for delegates to attend the whole conference. Despite being shorter in length, we have maintained the quality, quantity and diversity of sessions, including 9 plenary lectures and 12 symposia covering a range of translational topics to suit clinicians, scientists and nurses. This year, we are pleased to announce a new session, ‘A year in..’, taking place on Wednesday. This year’s session focuses on worldwide progress into Type 2 diabetes.
As in previous years, there will be two sessions for Nurses, whilst our Senior Endocrinologists will benefit from having their own dedicated symposium. In addition, there will be a Debate, four Clinical Management Workshops and an Applied Physiology Workshop. This year sees the introduction of three Futures Workshops, focussing on developing clinical and scientific careers within endocrinology. Our two Skills Workshops have been developed by the Public Engagement Committee and the Early Career Steering Group and focus on working with the media and communicating science effectively. Don’t forget the poster viewing sessions where you are encouraged to network and discuss all of the latest developments in endocrinology.
We look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh.
