Event Overview
Welcome message:

The Department of Surgery, Aga Khan University (AKU) is organizing its 3rd Annual Surgical Meeting with the theme of ‘Surgical Oncology – Evidence & Practice’. This will be a multi-disciplinary conference involving all surgical disciplines. It is expected to be the largest gathering of surgical oncology-related specialties, where participants will have the opportunity to learn and interact with renowned international and national faculty.

The first days of the conference will be dedicated to workshops and scientific programme, while the third day will be reserved for activities centered on public awareness. Both days of the scientific programme will involve multidisciplinary sessions involving medical personnel, clinical oncologists, radiation oncologists, basic scientists, oncology nurses and oncological surgeons.

The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and International Journal of Surgery (IJS) will be the key collaborating partners of this conference. Several other collaborations with national and international organizations are in process as well.

A special issue with ‘International Journal of Surgery’ will be published parallel to the conference with review articles centered around the theme of oncology, and a medical humanities themed book, containing personal experiences and reflections of healthcare providers, families and patients, during their battle with cancer, will also be published with the conference.
