Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that the Organizing Committee of the annual Congress of the Swiss Society of Radiology (SGR-SSR) and the Swiss Society of Nuclear Medicine (SGNM-SSMN) welcome you to Basel in June 2015 together with the Swiss Association of Radiographers (SVMTRA-ASTRM).
We hope this meeting will be a place to listen and learn, but also to meet old friends and make new friends. The Scientific Committee of all the involved societies and associations offers a programme with plenary sessions, workshops and dedicated scientific sessions. The opening session organized jointly by the three societies will be dedicated to the topic of incidental findings. The other two plenary sessions will cover imaging aspects of the thyroid gland and the acute abdomen. The post-training course on Saturday will be focused on musculoskeletal radiology.
Various satellite symposia will take place supplementing the scientific programme. Our industrial sponsors will be present during the meeting offering insights into the latest technical developments. Without their support, running a scientific meeting like ours would be challenging, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them wholeheartedly for all their support.
Basel as a world renowned meeting venue will provide you a relaxing and convivial home for a few days. On Friday night, the traditional society event will take place in the ‘Offene Kirche Elisabethen', beginning rather formal in the early evening with a seated dinner, and followed by a casual party night for everyone.

Abstract Categories
Submitters of abstracts have to clearly indicate if their abstract is a scientific oral presentation, a scientific poster or an educational poster.
As in previous years, the Swiss Society of Radiology and the Swiss Society of Nuclear Medicine will join together and offer a joint scientific session. The latter is most suitable for contributions on hybrid imaging techniques as well as new techniques such as PET-MRI etc. Thus, submitters must indicate whether their abstracts are most suited for the scientific sessions of the Swiss Society of Radiology, for the scientific sessions of the Swiss Society of Nuclear Medicine, or for the joint scientific session(s) of both societies. The Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to change the presentation type in selected cases.
Abstract Structure
All abstracts have to be submitted in English using a maximum of 250 words. There is no formal limitation of the number of authors. Case reports are not accepted.
Review Process
All abstracts will be reviewed by a board of experts. The review process meets highest scientific standards as it is based on a blinded peer review process. Based on several criteria, an overall quality score is assigned to each abstract, which provides the basis for acceptance or rejection of an individual abstract. Please note that the number of oral presentations and posters is limited due to time restraints during the scientific session and exhibition space at the congress centre. Thus, abstracts with the lowest quality scores will be rejected.
Notification of Acceptance
A notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent out in February 2015 by email. If you wish to withdraw your paper after notification of acceptance or if you will not be able to attend the meeting, please inform the Congress Management by email (info@radiologiekongress.ch).
