This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and the American Society of Transplantation.  The American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  The American Society of Transplant Surgeons designates this live activity for a maximum of 33.75 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Final credit hours are subject to change and will be provided on-site.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


ATC will offer both American Board of Surgery (ABS) and American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credits to learners again this year. Check back closer to the meeting to view a list of eligible sessions.

The American Transplant Congress (ATC 2018) is dedicated to scientific and clinical information regarding various issues relevant to organ and tissue transplantation including socioeconomic issues, management and care, regulations and ethics.

The American Transplant Congress (ATC 2018) brings together surgeons, physicians, nurses, scientists, pharmacists and organ procurement personnel who are interested in the clinical and research aspects of solid organ and tissue transplantation.

The ATC is the joint meeting of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and the American Society of Transplantation (AST).  ATC provides a forum for exchange of new scientific and clinical information relevant to solid organ and tissue transplantation and brings together transplant physicians, scientists, nurses, organ procurement personnel, pharmacists, allied health professionals and other transplant professionals. The educational offerings provide attendees the opportunity to learn cutting-edge advances in research and exchange of ideas and practice in the field of solid organ and tissue transplantation.

Requests for refunds must be submitted via email to by May 15, 2018 to be eligible for reimbursement.  There will be a $75 processing fee for all refunds.  Refunds will not be processed until after the meeting.  Refund requests after May 15, 2018 will not be honored.  There are no refunds for ticketed or social events. 

If you register under the incorrect registration category, there will be a $75 processing fee to alter your registration.  Please make sure you have carefully reviewed the registration types before you register.  Requests to change a registration category must be submitted via email to by May 15, 2018.  We are not able to change your registration type after this date.

The American Transplant Congress is designed for physicians, surgeons, scientists, nurses, organ procurement personnel and pharmacists who are interested in the clinical and research aspects of solid organ and tissue transplantation.  The meeting will provide the most current information in the field of transplant science. 


A variety of formats are planned that will encourage the exchange of new scientific and clinical information and support an interchange of opinions regarding care and management as well as socioeconomic, ethical and regulatory issues relevant to organ and tissue transplantation.  

Abstract submissions will be presented through peer reviewed oral and poster presentations.

The purpose of the meeting is to:

Review and evaluate the latest clinical and basic science advances in transplantation science, medicine and surgery; 

Investigate recent developments in transplant biology, immunology and organ preservation; 

Examine the broad but critical issues in transplantation, including social and policy issues.

Submitting an abstract to the American Transplant Congress means that it will be peer reviewed and may be accepted for either an oral or a poster presentation.  All accepted abstracts will be published in an online Supplement to The American Journal of Transplantation (AJT), the Joint Jounal of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) and American Society of Transplantation (AST).  You may submit as many abstracts as you wish.
