On behalf of the Department of Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust we are delighted to welcome you to the Annual London Imperial Spine Course. The event promises to be a valuable educational opportunity for all professionals involved in the care of spinal disorders. Our success over the past few years has proved that a course of this nature is desperately needed and fills vital gaps in training requirements.
Because of the strong links between neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine faculties we felt it appropriate to cover the entire spectrum of spinal surgery including pain management, rehabilitation and advanced surgical techniques. This will be of interest to not only surgical trainees and consultants but also physiotherapists, GPs, nurses and theatre staff.
We aim to bring you the latest in our understanding of spine disorders and surgical techniques presented by eminent specialists in both the UK and internationally to facilitate knowledge exchange and networking amongst experts in the adjacent and overlapping fields within spinal surgery. We hope the course will facilitate debate on some of the most topical issues in the field, leading to open minded progress for the future.
It is a great pleasure to welcome an outstanding group of invited speakers, all experts in their fields across the whole spectrum of Spine disease who have contributed their time and expertise to make this course a success. We thank all those delegates who have attended from the UK and far afield and will be participating actively during this course.
We are grateful to Kenes UK for the massive effort they have invested into making this course a success. Many thanks also to our sponsors, who have made a substantial contribution. We hope that you will enjoy the content of the course, as well as the opportunity to interact and exchange views, ideas and plans with colleagues both in your immediate discipline and related fields. We also hope the course will promote the establishment of many new connections between Orthopaedic and Neurosurgical departments, leading to new opportunities and collaborations.
While you are in London please take the opportunity to visit the various attractions and we look forward to seeing you at the start of what we feel sure will be a scientifically fascinating and culturally exciting course.
