Event Overview
Welcome message:

Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the Viral Hepatitis Congress Scientific Committee, we are delighted to announce that the 2014 Viral Hepatitis Congress will take place at the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Center, Frankfurt, Germany, from 9–11 October 2014.

In 2013, we once again produced a high-quality and relevant scientific programme, augmented by extremely popular, innovative and interactive discussion sessions. We are confident that, by continuing to invite a world-class faculty, this year will be even better.

2014 will see great changes in the field of viral hepatitis, with many drugs arriving and various treatment options for our patients. In this rapidly evolving environment, it is more important than ever to sustain a forum where the wealth of data can be put into a practical perspective for our colleagues.

The Viral Hepatitis Congress will digest the latest data from a broad range of sources, examine the new treatments, and translate this array of information for our audience. We are bringing together a cutting-edge programme, which will explore the clinical challenges presented by viral hepatitis infection and its associated complications.

We spoke with a number of people at  the 2013 Congress who praised the intimate nature of the meeting, which allows excellent opportunities for networking. We are keen to retain this friendly atmosphere as we examine a range of topics over two-and-a-half days, with the unprecedented level of interaction provided by the state-of-the-art keypads, which we introduced at the 2013 Congress.

We look forward to seeing you in Frankfurt in October.

Yours sincerely

Professor Ira Jacobson and Professor Stefan Zeuzem
Co-Chairs of the Viral Hepatitis Congress

Oral & Poster presentations

If the submitted abstract is accepted for presentation at the Congress, it will be as either an Oral or a Poster:

  • Oral presentations: 15 minutes slots within the scientific sessions (10 minutes, plus five for questions), to present your work in the main auditorium to the other participants at the Congress.
  • Poster presentations: present your work to the other participants from a poster alongside the exhibition, at dedicated sessions throughout the Congress programme.

Abstracts are more likely to be considered for an Oral presentation (as opposed to a Poster) if they contain new information and clinical rather than non clinical data.
