Ultrasound in Rural Medicine (Dec, 2018)
Ultrasound in Rural Medicine is organized by Australian Institute of Ultrasound (AIU) and would be held during Dec 10 - 14, 2018 at Australian Institute of Ultrasound, Gold coast, Queensland, Australia. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 30.5 ACEM CPD hours (Lecture 10.5 hrs, Practical 20 hrs).
This course is designed to give the rural practitioner a solid grounding in the basics of ultrasound.
This course includes:
• Basic practical physics, "knobology" and artefacts
• Probe manipulation techniques
• Scanning protocols in abdominal trauma (eFAST)
• Scanning protocols in pneumothorax & pleural effusion
• Scanning protocols in AAA
• Scanning protocols in ultrasound needle guidance techniques
• Kidney
• Gallbladder
• Vessels
• Basic cardiac
• Obstetrics
Conference Objectives are :
• To provide an overview of the physical principles and artifacts associated with ultrasound in the rural setting.
• To provide scanning skills required in maximising diagnostic ability.
• To provide an understanding of the protocols required in answering common clinical questions.
