Event Overview
Welcome message:

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to welcome you to participate in the WAO International Scientific Conference 2014 (WISC) 2014 and the XLI Annual Congress of the Brazilian Association of Allergy and Immunology(ASBAI) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 6-9 December 2014. The theme of the Conference isAdvancing the borders of allergy: From treatment to prevention by targeting the environment, infections and the susceptible patient.

The WAO International Scientific Conference has grown and evolved from one edition to the next, and the meeting in Rio de Janeiro will build on the hugely successful preceding Conferences in Dubai, UAE (2010) and Hyderabad, India (2012). Delegates may count on a stimulating and varied scientific program, highly relevant to both the theory and practice of allergy, asthma and clinical immunology.

WAO is organizing these focused, theme-based scientific Conferences in recognition of:

  • The increasing prevalence and more complex forms of allergic diseases and asthma worldwide, especially in children

  • The need to create a more integrated approach to the diagnosis and management of allergic diseases and asthma

  • The need to expand the knowledge and practice of allergy and provide more practical knowledge to young professionals

The 2014 Conference on Advancing the borders of allergy: From treatment to prevention by targeting the environment, infections and the susceptible patient will provide a forum for the most useful combination of latest research, review of current theory and practice, and hands-on, problem-based learning. Our aim is that participants gain insight into the most effective advances in the treatment and prevention of allergic and immunologic diseases
