RCOG World Congress offers you five fantastic opportunities to showcase your work to colleagues around the world:

1) NEW for 2016: Dame Hilda Lloyd Congress Medal

The College has chosen to celebrate the work of the pioneering Dame Hilda Lloyd, RCOG President from 1949 to 1952, in her home city of Birmingham. Dame Hilda was not only the first female President of any Royal College but was also instrumental in saving the lives of many women and babies through her innovative obstetrical ‘flying squads’.

To celebrate her achievement and showcase the work of O&G doctors today, the three highest scoring abstracts will have the opportunity to present their work in a special plenary session and the winner of the three will be awarded the Dame Hilda Lloyd Congress Medal.

Prizes

£1000 for the winner of the Dame Hilda Lloyd Congress Medal

£500 each for runners up

2) Oral Presentation

Each of the congress sessions has time set aside for oral presentations on a variety of areas in O&G. This is an ideal opportunity to gain experience of speaking at an international congress and expose your work to a wide audience.

3) Video Presentation

In recent years videos have become an increasingly popular way of showcasing procedures and techniques. Video presentations are welcome in all categories and will be presented amongst the oral presentations in the congress sessions. You will have the opportunity to make your video once your abstract is accepted so you won’t need to send it to us when you submit.

4) Electronic Poster Presentation

E-posters are an integral part of the congress and can be viewed not only by those attending the event but also by anyone else on our special e-poster website. Successful presenters have the opportunity to design their poster online so there is no longer any need to print or transport your poster. The innovative software is designed to make the design and upload of your e-poster possible in just 10 minutes. Round the clock support will be available to assist authors where necessary.

All posters for the congress are electronic and the e-posters are displayed at the Exhibition Hall on 55 inch plasma screens and dedicated poster viewing stations. An on-demand screen is also available to display posters on request

NEW for 2016: Best Poster Competition

With so many to choose from, deciding on the winner of the best poster is always a difficult job. This year the top 10 scoring abstracts who are selected for e-poster presentation will have the opportunity to compete for the Best Poster Prize. Two special sessions are being organised in the Exhibition Hall where these posters will be displayed and the author has the opportunity talk to the judging panel, and the audience, about their work.

5) Stump the Expert Session

One of the highlights of the RCOG World Congress 2013 was the Stump the Expert Session where trainees pitched their complex cases to a panel of experts. If you are submitting an abstract on a particularly interesting case that you are working on, you can tick the box in the submission process to have it considered for this session.
